Heather is a 40 year old transgender Air Force veteran who became disabled during her time in service. She founded Raindrop Works in late 2019, originally planning to make a technology service from it before pivoting to journalism in light of the protests surrounding the murder of George Floyd. Since then she’s covered numerous protests as well as documenting a variety of court cases, with a focus on protest related charges, government transparency and accountability of the city of Portland and it’s elected leaders.
Heather has been featured in interviews in The Guardian as well as KATU, and has had an opinion editorial published in the Portland Tribune, as well as her work here.
