As the Oregonian previously reported, now-retired Portland Police officer Scott Groshong was indicted last week on a litany of charges related to hitting a person while undercover with his vehicle. While the Portland Police Association claims there is evidence missing from the grand jury testimony, the fact that five Portland cops were involved in the testimony before the grand jury makes me cautiously hopeful that for once, a police officer might actually have consequences for their actions.
In the interest of transparency, I’ve fished out the indictment from court records (after it was unsealed) and transcribed the text to be more accessible.
